#31075, "Winter Projects"

Typically, a lot of us on here don't drive our cars as frequently in the winter as we do in the summer. So I know I use the winter as time to complete major projects on the 2gnt.

What are some of your winter projects?

Mine:

Bought bigger turbo From Terry(Star Turbo Talon).
Picked up the Portfuler system.
Bought a couple other supporting mods for those 2 itmes.
Pulled the motor to have engine bay repainted.
Removed the dash to remove the heater and ac components that will be no longer used on my car.
As much cheap weight reduction as possible.

Goals for the summer are to be around 350 hp. Yes I do have a fully built bottom end...Je/Eagle...the works, etc.

98 GS
Super 17c Turbo, Portfueler, Je pistons, Eagle rods, Etc.

ive gotten most of the stuff in my sig installed during the winter months so far.

** Current status: 9 bent valves. and it only had 6,000 miles on it. i hope the replacement goes well. **

Lots of expensive parts, and still slow! Oh wait, it has to run to go fast.

You laugh now, but he's so fucked. emoji

Doesn't really feel like winter anymore, so I consider these things to be done before the triple digits return in April:
Talon - Pull built engine, install stock engine, detail, sell.
Galant - Fix oil drain leak, flush brake fluid as part of brake job, shifter replacement, alignment, full paint job, three rallyx events.

Maybe pick up another Galant. I dunno.

I don't have anything really planned for the Evo. I do plan on doing some work to the garage though after tax returns. Finish insulating and drywall the garage and then frame off and finish the room/rooms above it. I think I'm going to make 2 rooms above it. One smaller room for storage and another larger one for a workshop/weight room.
In the spring time (after I save some money from the 2nd job) Evo gets coilovers, new tires and a bunch of Cusco bracing.

Nice. My apartment is right over my garage. Yes i know.....I still live on my parents property. But...I do pay rent, do buy my own groceries, and do come and go as i please. It is what has to be done for a broke college student trying to finish school.

My winter project for the Evo has so far consisted of dropping it off at the body shop. 2 months ago. <Sigh>

Since I'm trying to buy a house, nothing except swapping a few parts over from my parts car. Oh and making an extra payment on the Evo with money made from selling parts off said parts car.

I contributed to the Wiki!

Really current status for myself is just buying all the parts needed for both removal of bad parts for "better parts" and my build, so that I have minimal down time when it gets to swapping major components.

Have one of my two eclipses running. Gst needs some machine work for its new turbo, and thats it. Im going super sleeper T28 ftw. My RS is going 2.4 so it became more than a winter job. Im thinking, Its a two winter job.

modding 2 cars at the same time sucks BTW. But for once I made my chick pay for a date. And like a good date should after a free dinner and movie, I put out.

We will build you bigger and stronger

Get the boost leak fixed on this:

Also plan to do do some buffing, cleaning, and painting on various parts of the car. A 2gb swap may be in order soon.
