Just got orders to Miramar Cali. Should be there by the end of the next month. Wondering if there are any DSMer down in the area? And wondering what the chances of find a good 2g GSX? Its either AWD or rear. Dont really want to go back to front. Would love to pick up another DSM. Didn't want to leave the land of Japan but the time comes I gotta go.

Plenty of DSMs out there. SoCal is home of Mitsubishi Owner Day in Cypress. If you don't mind the bullshit smog laws, poorly maintained highway system, overcrowding, burgeoning illegal alien population, blatant inflation on common items, and general mass hysteria that make up Kalifornia, you'll find it's still a great place to live. I've got all kinds of friends over there. CODE4 from this board is a Marine at Pendleton.

I'm sure you'll find lots of DSMers out that way.

You should move up to norcal. It's like Los Angelos except pretty, clean, polite people, and a good highway system...

In other words it's like AZ except you guys don't have the stupid smog laws, gun laws, and mild heat during the summer emoji

Welcome to the shit hole we call So-Cal. I actually work right up the street from the miramar base(just shortly after miramar turns into la jolla village)
Chances of finding a 2g GSX out here are slim to none. Even if you manage to find one chances are they will be asking a ridiculous price for it which is way above KBB.

I actually forgot about all the laws and shit Cali has. What a great reminder guys. Thanks! As of right now I'm heading to Miramar. No change what so ever happening. I know there are a few So-Cal DSMers out there. I'm not focused on a DSM. If another SR20 comes around for a good price I'll take it up. But I figured finding a decent GSX would be slim to none. So I gotta start now if I want to find a good one. Any info would be greatlly appreciated. I hope to meet some of you SoCal guys once I get out there. Been out of the DSM scene too long.

SR20 is a no go either, No Worky With Smoggy! Modding a car in California is no fun at all, at least as far as when The Man is around. I'm in V-Town, which is essentially a drive north through the wall of haze (that's smog by the by) until you smell cows. Hit me up if you come this way. Also Chammy and HipHop are pretty cool guys down in that area, I think Dan moved, I know Turby is up in Portland, but there are good folk down there.

Modding IS fun in California if you get the right car. AWD eclipses can only be sniffer tested which almost ALWAYS passes unless your car is seriously messed up. It's mostly the underhood aspect you have to get past, which isn't that hard if your car was turboed from the factory.

I think I will end up getting a car in Oregon before I get to Cali. That way its not registerd in Cali. My parents live up in the Eugene area. I remember there being a good amount of untouched DSMs. Just hope there is a GSX.

I really want to, but its going to be at least 11k to bring it back. Right now, I can't do that. I still have connections over here, so maybe one day down the road.

Its funny how buying another DSM really does have the right time. California is a bitch state now and it changed completely. I got out on the tail wind (I guess...) but it does seem to be getting worse (according to the prophecy...) lol.

I packed up and moved to Oregon overnight and no one knew where I went. I picked up a 1g TSI AWD for 2g's from a co-worker at HorsePowerFreaks and it's been my snowy slidy but grabby as fuck daily driver ever since. 2gnt is awaiting a nsg370 trans emoji so I can stomp some people out at PIR

Well, Im going to be stateside by this saturday. I've been searching around for some cars for the last couple weeks. Have had my mind set on a Tacoma have for a daily and not worry about another project. But I found this the other day. Looks like a good deal. Something that might be reliable but still can do some upgrades here and there. Only problem is I only have 9k cash. When I get in town I'm going to go talk to the shop that did the work. What do you guys think?

Personally I would just buy a factory turboed vehicle to save you some hassle of being pulled over.

Welcome to California...!

I bet you can talk him down to $9K.

The guy seems pretty genuine about the car, but yeah, I don't know California laws are about smog and stuff.

Yea, Im going to offer him 9k if I decide to go for it. I got to see the car the other day. Its pretty clean for a 97. Body is still straight, interior is in good condition. Engine looks to have some leask. Not sure if this is from before the build or not. Probably going to go talk to the shop tomorrow that did the work. Does anyone else have an opinion if this is a good deal? Would really like to get a GSX. And this is the only one in the area for a good deal.
