Well, as of 3pm today, I am 24 and now a home-owner. It feels kind of empowering, but, I suppose that'll change when the mortgage payment goes out every month. Anyone else buying/bought their first home recently?

Excellent move. The payments and upkeep of the house are a little tough at first, but you'll get used to it.

Congrats! emoji

I bought my first house two years ago at the age of 20. I am currently trying to move out of it. The real-estate market has shot up over the past couple of years and I have done a little work to the house. If I get my asking price for it (which i think i will have no problem with) then I will have made almost 40,000 in 2 years. Not bad emoji
I bought my house and looked at it as an investment and thank goodness it has worked out that way. I was fortunate to have smart people guiding me along the way. I am currently in the process of moving to Georgia. Wish me luck!

Bought mine when I was 20 as well 2 years ago. Just re-did the entire exterior of the house and garage, now re-doing the kitchen and planning on selling over winter for a pretty big profit. Now with the baby and all, I need a bigger house. Mine is a 3 bed 2 bath but still some what small, its a Ranch style home. We are looking for a 4 bed 3 bath now.

Bought mine in March of this year.
I got a pretty good deal on it. But I don't think it was good enough to make any money on for quite awhile with the market sucking balls...

Im 32 and still no house but I live in hawaii. What I pay for one can buy half a block in other parts of the states. To give you an idea My friend got a new studio in a skyrise in Waikiki for 220k I live in a 900k 4br 2 1/2 bath with a small yard and a 2 car garage. almost 2000 square feet. but I pay 2800 a month for it. A nice perk is its on a golf course so we drink and hit balls all hours of the night.

We will build you bigger and stronger

Had all my ducks in a row for buying my first one this winter but plans change and people go crazy. Here's to hoping that 2008 will be my last year renting.

The wife and I bought our first house together the end of August.
I owned a condo before we got married and I lived in the house she bought on her own for a year, so it's not our "first" house.

w/ my new promotion I plan to purchase my first house in early to mid 2008. I'm 25 and live in the Washington DC area where you are lucky to find a 1 bedroom condo for 200k or 2 bedroom townhouse for 300k-350k. This is for cheap places 15 mins away from where I live now. Anything near me is 500k and up. F that.

Currently 24yo here, bought my first house last year at the age of 23. I am now married and I'll worn you now!, investing money in your home is addictive, be careful lol emoji . I do my own work on the house and my own landsdcaping, but the stuff is still super expensive.

anyway, congrats !

grats man!

i just signed with a contractor to build our first house emoji
went out to the site yesterday and theres a pile of dirt and a foundation already!
negotiated with the wife on house colors and she can pick out the paint for the inside and i get whatever i want for our kitchen (i used to be a chef so i know how to use the fancy things) and WHATEVER tv i want emoji helllloooo 72" LED DLP!!!
i figure with a tv that big i dont care what the walls look like!
and yes i hae the Home theater components to make the best use of it too.

Congrats, Nope Not yet Hopefully Next year sometime First need to fix my credit etc. due to my ex. wife Yay. I've been looking though found two one up the from my mothers with attached two car garage Yuppie and the other same but close to a drag strip Hehe.

My moms payments where decent but she got behind took out too many. She likes to spend but she learned her lesson though. I've heard that Renting is Better than owning but I've also been told owning is better. My cousin owns three lives in one and rent out the others.

Empowering Yep that is actually second since you own a car. The Most empowering is being a parent, but with the right woman that is.
