#27127, "Good idea to keep cats off the 2g?"

After buffing out numerous claw marks on my cf hood, I have decided to put an end to this once and for all. The fate of the first cat I caught on it didn't set a good enough example so I decided this might work better and allow me to sleep easier at night. I'm going to take my old windsheild washer reservoir/pump assembly and wire it up to activate with a pressure switch mounted under the hood. Then make some bases for the washer nozzles so they can be placed on the hood facing towards the front where they like to jump up. In case you were wondering, this would all be an external temporary setup with only the pressure switch mounted to the car. Just park the car, pop the hood to allow the neccesary travel for the switch to work, plug the switch in and aim the squirters. I think this should work out very well. Any comments or suggestions are welcome.

Get a cover for your car, or just deal with it. Seems like way too much to even consider.

A garden hose with a nozzle to spray them when they get close couldn't hurt?

Spend $40 and 5 minutes for a car cover. Or buy a gun.

I have a car cover on my other car and they treat it like a huge scratching post, it's almost completely shredded, not to mention the millions of small scratches on the paint underneath as a result of this. I know for a fact a gun works, but they only get up there at night and I have a difficult time catching them in the act. I still don't know what ever happened to that cat, it just disappeared....

Get one of these.

Just pray this doesn't happen ontop of your hood.

Stun it with a pellet gun and feed it to a 7' boa. Works great.

Get a dog! When I moved into my rental house, there were stray cats sturttin around like they owned this place. I adpoted Bella (black lab/pointer mix) and she even stays inside. The cats left out and I havent seen a stray cat in the hood in over a year.

My outside cat coughs up hairballs and pisses wherever he deems necessary on my car. If I weren't looking to get in trouble for animal cruelty, I'd beat the living shit out of him. It sucks smelling cat piss when changing the oil. Anyone want a free cat?

Yeah, I hate it when they get into the mulch! Get a garage person who asked the question. If you can't, then a dog.
