Which one do you guys think are better?

Yesteday I had the first eye exam in 3 years. Got a pair of contacts just to see how I would like them for a couple weeks. I got contacts my freshman year of college but I was too lazy/immature to learn how to put them in easily. I just said screw it and started not wearing them and sitting in the front row during class. Well I've got blind as a bat in those three years. My night vision was getting so bad it was dangerous for me to drive so I had to get something.

I still cant decide if I should stop being a woman and just learn how to put them in or get glasses or both.

i do both. i still do my contacts while i'm deployed but when i go out, i have inserts i wear on my eyewear since i can't go out in contacts. but back stateside, i sport either my contacts or my $275 (frames, lenses, scratch resistant, ect...) glasses. not to sound cocky, but either way, i look, good

the biggest thing i love about my contacts is the fact my peripheal vision rocks. no more blur to the sides. espcecially when i still played ice hockey, it helped out so much since i was a goalie. plus, no fogging, wet spots, or anything a long those lines. just make sure you take them out if they are not designed to be slept in. another thing, if you have no sense of style, like me kinda, take a girl with you. they will help you find a pair that looks good on you in many situations.

Contacts. Been wearing them for over 10 years now. I can't stand glasses.

Eventually, I'm going to look into lasik eye surgery. I hate having to wake up every morning and the first thing I think is "where are my glasses?".

I have worn glasses for a long time, but about 11 years ago, I crossed over into contacts. They make them now to where you can put them in and once a month change out into a new pair. I wouldn't go with those imo. I take mine out every night and they work pretty good. I do remember when I first got them it took me forever to put them in due to never touching my eyes. It took like 30 min to get them in, but now, 11 years later, no big deal. Takes me about 30 seconds per eye. I would go with the contacts. I have a pair of glasses as a backup just in case something goes wrong, i.e. contact rips or you need to see in the middle of the night. just my .02 cents

damn I just got glasses and am fucking scared of contacts, just seems freakey touching my eye. Been using glasses for like 3-4 months now, only for class and some times driving. Although during the school semester I pretty much have them on 24/7, now that I am on vacation its just preference.

The frames I got gimme some character though at $350 they better!

I spent about $100 on my glasses frames. The place I went to had some cheap frames for people who don't plan on wearing glasses much. I had to ask about it since they didn't have them out on display.

I wear contacts but only on the weekends or when going out somewhere nice/fun.
I wear the dailies now (Throw away each pair at night). This makes it so much more convenient in case you end up having to crash at a friends house at night and don't have your solution / container.

I got some black frame Prada glasses. I think they were $329 with frame/lens/coating/etc.

The contacts I got are 30 pairs (60 total) for $60. It was more for me because I have astigmatism in both eyes.

I would do a combo of disposable daily contacts with glasses.

I've needed glasses since I was about 8..I'm now 19.

I now wear contacts (since freshman year of HS) and I really do love it, again like said before periphial vision is a big bonus as I wreslted played football and played baseball for most of my high school career, and it was nice to not have to worry about your glasses being knocked off, but it mostly helped out with wrestling since I could actual see my opponent lol.

If you decide on contacts, make sure you take care of them, I got really lazy and didn't take a pair out for atleast 2 months and got an infection called Contact Lens Overwear, it happens when you sleep with your contacts in too long, since your eyes roll back when you sleep your eyelids are keeping the dirt/bacteria from entering the actual eye (or something like that lol) but when your contacts are on they bring all the bacteria and crud back into the eye and you get an infection. I've gotten it twice and it sucks balls, its basically like pink eye except worse.

I've had my contacts for about 6-7 years now. I love 'em, it's great having peripheral vision. As for taking them out every night, I used to only take them out every other night or every third night and was usually fine. Once I had them in for 5 days while in Cancun b/c I forgot a case and couldn't find one there. They were fine then too. But this past fall, I scratched my eye really bad and not sure if it was from something on the contact or not. Since then I have only slept with them in maybe 3 or 4 nights. Only problem with keeping them in is they get dry, but nothing a few drops can't fix. Glasses always give me a headache if I wear them for any extended period of time, but with the contacts, no headache.

I never clean my contacts anymore. Everynight I take them out and put them in a case with saline in it and just rinse them off in the morning before putting them in. I haven't had any problems doing that and have been doing it for about 1.5-2 years.

I have needed corrective lenses for almost 20 years now. And I turn 26 on the 15th. I have worn contacts for the last 13 years. Both have their uses. But glasses do not work well for any physically demanding work. They fog up, precipitation adheres to the lenses rendering your vision almost useless sometimes.

I have gov't issued lenses as well when I actually go out to wear. But otherwise I just wear the contacts. Throw them away every 2-3 weeks and slap a new pair in.

As you put it, quit being a pussy and just learn how to put them in and take care of them efficiently. Anyone that has worn contacts for a long period of time can put a set in in less than 30 seconds.

If all goes well I will get the gov't to fund my PRK surgery sometime in the next two months. I cannot imagine what it will be like to wake up in the morning and not have to reach for my glasses or go straight to the sink to put my contacts in.

2nd day = 10 mins
3rd day = 5 mins
4th day = 2 mins

By the 5th day, you are poppin them in and out within 30 seconds.

I can put in my contacts within 15-20 seconds each eye. This coming from a guy who could never touch his eye.

I don't understand how some of you guys leave them in for 3-5+ days!?!?
My eyes start to burn and feel like they need to "breathe" after about 15 hours straight use.

Just got contacts. I used to be farsighted and now I'm nearsighted.

Doc says my vision is perfect but I couldn't stand not seeing how I used to so I got contacts. Now I'm like 15/20 again haha.

I have a friend who got the lasik eye surgery done, I don't need glasses personally, but she said it was the best $4,000 she ever spent. ($2,000 per eye).

2 sets of injectors is better than 1 =)

Thats why my microfiber cloth is my new best friend I'll try contacts when I have a lil more free money. I dont like the idea of having to keep buying them though.

well. if you wear your contacts all day and night, until you put new ones in like me, your eyes get gradually worse. i went from a -1 script to a -1.5 in a year. and then the next year to -2.25. im looking into eye surgery, but ya know.

take them out! is what im saying. i have glasses but i hate glasses, they make me dizzy.

I only wear glasses before and after I am wearing contacts. I hate glasses, even though I have the "lightweight titanium" frames with no lens rims, I don't like them. I like my peripheral vision.

As for putting them in, its not that bad. It's freaky for the first week, if that... but after that it's fine. Just gradually step up the time that you wear them. Start off at 4 hrs, 5 hrs, 7 hrs, etc. I wear mine up to 36 hours at a time sometimes, but then again I hold very odd hours because of my job.

I wore contacts forever. Glasses were not good with me since it was cumbersome to wear safetly glasses over them. Got Lasik 3 years ago and if i had to do it again, I dont care what it would cost me. I can see 20/15 and I never was able to see that good with contacts or glasses.


They have payment plans too so at least consider it. Its a real easy painless surgery.
