#25521, "New ride... and a new project!"

I just finished my undergrad degree and after owning it for 5 years, I decided it was time to replace the Talon. I still have the Talon though. It is now my winter car/autox and track car. Right now I have the interior out, waiting to pick up some bride racing seats.

I'll probably be pulling the engine after the winter to do some more serious work and slowly building the car up. I'll post some pics as the build progresses.

For the new ride though:

2005 Pontiac GTO
Phantom Black Metallic, Black/Red Interior
Verde Wheels
SAP Grills (painted to match body, along with rear facia)
2006 Holden tail lights (from Aussie)
HSV Badging
Lingenfelter Intake
Magnaflow Catback
Pedders Sports Suspension (2" drop)
Short Shifter (Harrop)
CAGS (skip-shift) Elimination

I don't think these pics do even do the car justice though. It's a blast to drive, and surprisingly comfortable. All the fun of my old F-Bodies with the interior to match! Even more surprising was the fuel milage I can get out of it. Pushing it around on the streets, it can drop to 17/18 MPG, but cruising on the highway and just driving normally, I can get 22 to 24 MPG.

I have some plans for this car as well. I am currently looking at putting on L92 heads with the L76 intake manifold (The heads are a variant from the LS7 being used on larger trucks, and the intake is straight of the vette LS7) On a stock cam with a tune (HPTuners reflash) and short tube headers, this will put down 420rwhp, and look and sound stock. I am planning a custom ground cam and long tube headers with a few additional tweaks (MAF, etc) which should put down 470 to 500 rwhp. Overall, including purchase price, this puts me about 30k into the car, which has 14k miles as it sits in my driveway now.

I am still debating which way to go on the talon. I need to look into the classing a little more before I make a final decision on what I am doing to it. I'll keep everyone posted.
