Cliff's Notes: Sprint/Nextel has $700m deal to be the sole communications provider for NASCAR (meaning no other telecom firms to show their face at a race). Cingular was grandfathered in since they already sponsored a car. Well, AT&T bought Cingular so they're changing the logo on the car. NASCAR tried to stop this, but a judge told them that's too bad and allowed the change.
Always good to see someone, even if it's a fat, corporate entity stick it to NASCRAP. Wo0t!

This is funny because my room mate's mom works for Chip Gannassi (sp?) racing and they race the target car. She is not allowed to bring anything to work in a Wal Mart bag.

understood it has not been decided yet and at&t was on the car this weekend but that was not forever just until the final judgement came down. Fair is Fair though, Nextel has all naming rights to the series. Also, Nascar doesnt suck..... you Do!

I didn't read the article but it seems to me that it was Nextel/Sprint that got it "stuck" to them, not NASCAR. Seems to me like NASCAR would want all the sponsors they could get there hands on. But I don't pretend to know all the ins and outs of the business.
The one thing I do know is you either like NASCAR or you don't.
