Maybe someone can point me in the right direction here. My Dad bought a new air compressor and he bought this thing called a silencer for it. It has a 1/4 NPT thread on it and it looks like a air filter inside. I guess it is some kind of exhaust maybe to muffel the sound. My question is, we cant figure out where it goes, lol. I thought it maybe went where the air filter was, but it doesnt fit there, the air filter slides in and this silencer us supposed to thread in.

Anyone know where this thing goes?

I think it goes on the intake. I used to work for Saylor-Beall Air-Compressors, and that's were I remember them putting the silencers.

BTW...the exhaust of an air compressor goes into that big tank looking thing

Leave it out. Nothing will silence that over obnoxious rattle can.....lol You know I am telling you the truth.

Seriously, its not going to do much. Extra parts, kinda like when you work on a customers car...lol
