Talking to my friend with a 2000 Audi A4 1.8T fwd. He told me he got a test pipe that will add 10 hp and 30-40 ft lbs of torque. On the stock turbo. With a stock exhaust. This would be the only mod.

Hey, if it says so on the box/ad/ebay listing, it must be proven right?! Plus it was R&D on a Civic, so an Audi must have better gains

I dunno the hp figure doesn't sound completely insane compared to the stock audi exhaust with the turbo on there. the torque, ehh i dunno, but still... who knows.
edit: nevermind, i mdrunk, didn't see the stock exhaust part. tard.

Have you owned a turbo car? My VR4 was a lot faster w/ just an aftermarket downpipe w/ no cats. Audi's get all of their gains from chips. The older S4's got like 60HP out of some chips.

working at VW and next door to audi I think a test pipe would FREAK OUT the car something fierce, those things need reflashes for changing altitude, it's insane

that's the thing. it's just a test pipe, only. factory exhaust, no chip, nothing. how much good is a test pipe going to do when all that air gets crammed into the factory exhaust anyways?
even if he did do all that shit to it, it would still probably be slow as balls. the thing weighs about as much as my truck, not to mention it's auto. we raced the one day, and I seriously thought he didn't even try. it was pretty sad.
my truck is probably faster than my 2g though, so I can;t make fun of him too much.
