I just got back from picking this up

31,008 miles, 1 Florida owner, paid $21,000 out the door. Seemed reasonable to me and its bone stock except a 12" sub in the trunk and an xplod headunit. They assured me that the previous owner had all the oil changes done at the dealership ontime and that he traded it in on a m3 (I think he said CSL M3)

Still have the turbo RS for the time being... not sure If I'll be selling it or parting out the performance stuff and going back to stock or what.

haha I'm trying the same. Congrats on the new car you'll love it. I see it's an VIII, what year? We're in the same boat, Evo and RST, can't decide what to do with the RST and trying not to mod the Evo. My current plans are to just go with a drop in downpipe with cutout or full exhaust and a reflash to hopefully break the 325whp mark.

Its an 03. Yea, I didn't realize how easy these things are to wake up... I might have to do a few small things after a while... for now its pretty fun though. I'm still in shock that I was able to get the damn thing, its a crazy feeling.

I joined evolutionm.net Are there any other good evo forums?

Yeah they're pretty easy to wake up, but the IX's are easier to wake up than the VIII's.

Evotuners has some good info but there's not a lot. Evom has a lot but there's a lot of BS to wade through to find it, although they do have a lot of write-ups which are nice and easily accesible.

Welcome to the club! Car looks great. They are very easy to make gobs of power with, even the 03's. If you have any questions, let me know. I work on most of the Evo's in my area, and already there isn't much I haven't done to one.

BTW, it won't stay stock for long!

Don't buy an EVO to "keep it stock". That's what you buy a Legacy GT for emoji 4 months and no mods!!!! It's amazing how many people mods those cars though.
EDIT: BTW, SWEET CAR!!!! congrats

Looks very nice man, my cousin has an 03 EVO in black and that thing is pretty cool. It won't stay stock for long either, that's what my cousin said as well and he is now trying to get a full exhaust, bov, boost controller, etc.

Thanks everyone.

How much hp is the stock exhaust good for? I wouldn't mind slapping on a open element filter or a k&n drop-in but I don't want to mess with too much... Say I get an intake and a tune, how much whp would I be looking at on average? what do these but to the wheels stock? I'm guessing they can increase the boost just through reflashing or w/e? I hate being a n3wb all over again...

Don't bother with an intake. Just go with a drop in.
Stock intake/airbox is good for around 400 hp.
Drop-in with a test pipe and a flash from a GOOD tuner will net you around 20-30 AWHP. With a 3"TBE, maybe another 20.
Flash and BPU's got me 64 hp on my IX without touching the boost.
