#22190, "my first successful valve cover paint job, yay!! :o"

I remember back when I still had my Eclipse, I tried to paint the valve cover. Turned out horrible, due to improper prepping and being in a hurry. I even found a picture of it.

Didn't have my mad tyte ebay cold-air intake and dc sport header on.
I was such a nub and painted right over the original factory paint. emoji

Anyways; took 3 hours yesterday and am quite pleased with the results. This valve cover was an extra I had laying around, which will be going on my new motor in April.

Materials used (bought at Lowes). Oh, I don't know what I was thinking, but I put some of that paint stripper in a styrofoam cup... ate right thru it:

Original VC that was on when I purchased the car. Ricer bluuuue emoji :

Naked:

A couple layers of primer:

BAM!

Turned out pretty good. Wanted to keep it fairly mild and nothing spectacular, such as being chromed out or have tons of flake like someones car emoji

Why would you put a new engine into a Honda? emoji emoji

Looks good. If you wanted to find JASCO in the dictionary, you'd have to look under, "Fucking bad ass." It's what I used on my VC with over ten layers of shitty red paint on it. (Wrinkled up, at that. Looked like red elephant hide. BANME!s. Pffft.)

Looks good! emoji
Although, why spend time and energy on a Honda? Pull the VC back off your eclipse and show it some love! emoji

Bought the car really cheap with slight rod knock and spun bearing. Also has a minor crack in the block. Other than that, I'm not going to waste too much money on the 'ol Honduh.

The most important thing is just removing all of the previous paint and making sure the valve cover is clean. And if you know how to properly use a spray can, it should turn out fine.
