The owners of the dealership I work for just sold their franchise to another dealership. Assuming they don't need new people I'm screwed. This sucks especially since I just got started w/ my new position 2 months ago and don't have a lot of experience. Just thought I'd share.

I hope that happens but who knows. We are all meeting w/ our managers this week and the owner of the new dealership is stopping by to talk to people. I'm excited but scared, cause I know I will get recommended by my boss, since I have been there for 4 1/2 years. (a lot longer then 90% of the people there) It looks like a lot of my employee's are already looking for jobs and talking about leaving soon. I am in no huge hurry to get up and leave. The dealership that bought us already has Lincoln, Mercury and Jaguar so I have to assume we would be the most important part of the dealership (Land rover) but my job (working under the service advisors) isn't a hard job to train people in and they probably already have someone there. Just a little worried. We shall see what happens as the week goes by. Maybe I'll file for unemployement and take a vacation. Don't know anything about that stuff though.

Now your talkin like a smart man. I have no idea why the other people you work with are all worried and looking for jobs. The smartest thing you can do is collect for 3 or 4 months and get yourself a job getting paid off the books in cash. Instant double income without working two jobs. emoji

I never thought I would need to do it but I want to stick it out here until the end, since I make pretty good $ now and I think I'll get better recommendations from my manager this way. If things end here and I can't move on to the next dealership I don't want to rush things and jump into a job I don't really want. Make sense?

Do what feels most comfortable, but remember to watch out for #1. It will work out in the end, just keep your head up and work hard, someone will want you to work for them. But I'm a crazy Visalian emoji so be careful of my advice emoji

Bringing this back from the dead cause although I'm still at my job, more then half of the techs are gone and we are down from 3 service advisors to 1 1/2 and of course now we are getting a massive ammount of people calling about appointments. Looks like we are closing in mid April. Should be interesting cause our best 2 techs, that are still here, are leaving after next week. The company buying us is stupid and let all the mechanics slip away so I dunno if I even want to go over there. Still got another Land Rover dealer I'm waiting on but if that doesn't work out I dunno what I'm doing. Plus it's a much longer drive involving stupid DC area traffic. I'm getting tired of this area. This is the suck.
