I don't know much about those cars other than that generation goes for CHEAP. Don't expect to pay a lot for it. Search up craigslist.org if you want to get a good feel for how much they go for. They sell like DSMs though I'm pretty sure.

emoji God I emoji those fox coupe's.

Man, that's sweet. Unfortunately, I've never heard of 303x heads, AFR's and camfields are nice (both aluminum), GT-40's are okay, GT-40P's are better (both cast), Dart Sr's are good, but cast iron. "303" is usually a cam, B303, or simply b-cam (also e303, f303, x303, z303).

The b-cam is fairly mild. It has okay duration, but lift is fairly small (fairly balanced for NA and keeps air velocity up while entering the cylinders), except the 1.7 rockers compensate by adding extra lift vs the standard 1.6's. The only downfall to that is sometimes (depending on who you ask) it may push the valve slightly off center, due to the angle. I ran them with no problems, but I changed heads & cam, so I had to change rockers, so I went with the 1.6's.

Everything he mentioned is somewhat standard on any performance fox, except the 4-cylinder springs. That's kind of the cheap way to lower it, but it works.

The tubular a-arms are lighter, but bend easier than stock. Now all you'd need is the tubular K-member and you're losing like 100 pounds total.

All in all, it's a pretty sweet car. He probably wants $4500-$5500 for it because it's clean, he put work into it, and it probably runs like a bat outta hell (my guess, mid/low-13's easy). What's working against him is the car's 16 years old now, but they're starting to become a little more rare.

Honestly, I'd offer $3000 (actual retail value is $2875). If he laughs (which he might), don't get cocky/angry and/or point out anything (I have a tendency to do that and just piss people off), just say, "it's a fuckin sweet car, that's my offer. What do you want for it?" However, I wouldn't pay more than $4000 for it (maybe $4500 if you just had to have it). I bought my 99 for $5600 drive out 2 years ago. That PI 4.6l is the shiznit, but I miss my 90 GT.

Thanks man, you answered all my questions and then some. Thanks for all the detail because I know next to nothing about the car.

TX state troopers had them.

The '10-hole' rims were black with bare metal center caps on the actual DPS cars.

Oh, and my brother, too:

That's a nice look at the tubular K-member.

and another:

I'd ask him about the heads to see who actually makes them, if they're aluminum, and see what size valves are in them. 2.02 intake and 1.60 exhaust is pretty standard for 'bigger' heads (kinda like +1mm or +2mm valves in the 2gnt world).

**EDIT**
And at least it's got a MAF and isn't "speed density" (like the 2gnt with only TPS & MAP sensors). I think 87 through mid-90 were like that. The MAF & MAP system is so much better and will take 5 PSI like fuckin crack!

Damn thats hot...

EDIT: I got a price approximation out of him and he said it take an offer of about 7.5k-8k before he'd sell. Oh well, I can see myself paying that much If I was out of college and had the money... Thanks for the input, looks like I'll have to pass though.

Oh and he told me "the heads are x303 ford motorsports heads"

Ah, learn something new every day:

http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts/part_details.asp?PartKeyField=2601

They look like nice heads, aluminum cast based on the GT40, but improved.

But yeah, for that money, I'd sell you my car emoji

**EDIT**
Or you can do like this guy and do a 5.0 swap from a 2.3 car:

Dead give away to me was the 4-cylinder seats (interior's different between the v8 and I4.

Too much rust up there. Down here, they keep pretty well. My brother's car is an 80 model that doesn't have any rust on it.
