Isn't it a requirement for all US servicemen to have a rifle in their hands when posing for pics to send back home? emoji
Cool pics and nice ride. What does that thing get for mileage?

M-1114 Humvee with all that armor and a 6.5L GM turbo diesel gets roughly 300 miles to the full tank. But I can't remember how big the tank is.

By the way I see alot of places I recognize from my tour. Is you unit set up at BIAP? Tigerland DFAC is the best in Baghdad. Taji was the best I ate at during my first rotation. Also I was at FOB Falcon when I was there. Good luck. Keep your head down bro. Email me your APO and I'll make sure you get some stuff to help time go by. If you have any special requests send them with the addy.

oh yeah, pulled this off as a "ff" (fun fact):

"The Humvees weigh about 12,000 lbs. with extra steel and ballistic windows that will protect from 7.62 mm small arms fire, 155 mm artillery airburst overhead and improved anti-tank mine protection.

The four-speed automatic M1114 is built with a 6.5 liter diesel supercharged engine made to handle the extra weight, giving it an advantage over other uparmored Humvees, McCulley said. The M1114 Humvee’s speed exeeds 75
miles per hour, makes the trip from zero to 30 in less than seven seconds and from zero to 50 in just under 18 seconds."

we are by the biap. living on one base and working on another when not going out on missions (thus me having free time). cafe defluery is now the best dfac in baghdad. being all army, we kind of stand out when we go over there on occassions. our dfac isn't bad but at the same time it's not as nice as others. but atleast it's not a chow tent. i'm waiting on some pics to get back to me that are being developed for me. once i get those, i'll take pics of them with my digital camera so i can post them (ghetto i know). i appreciate all you guys looking out for me and i am greatful for the free time that i have to be able to check my mail and hop on here. well when i get some more cool pics and all i'll post them up too. i can't wait to see the palaces in person!

I like how "Victory over America" palace looks like it got bombed up and is getting rebuilt now.

Yeah take a pic with your service rifle, we just got legal AR's in California for the first time since the 2000 ban, and I'm always checking out how you guys mod yours for usability.

Thanks for everything you guys do out there.

my afsc is 1n5 for the air force but i'm a 96b for the army. things are nice here (as nice as it can be). i know other places have it worse off but again, there's no place like home. the victory over america palace has been in the works since the first gulf war. built because we left after helping out kuwait, they saw it as, "victory over america". but yeah, the main bridge was bombed so now there's a walkway. only the cops in our group deployed with m4's and the rest have m-16a2's and 9mm barretta's. as for ar's, i'm going try to pick one up when i get to germany depending on the local laws and all. i'll keep you all in the loop.
