My mom's got an 02 impala, 3.8l, and for some reason, there's like 400 mA draw when the key's off. It doesn't do it 100% of the time, so I assumed the relay for the radio was staying on (googled and found others having a similar issue). I forgot the name of the relay, but I took it out and left it out and the problem went away. So, I left it out and wired up the radio with another relay to only power on when the key is on to keep testing and allow the radio to function. Granted, it looses time & presets, but it's temporary.
Well, the problem came back. I pulled the fuzes from under the hood and narrowed the drain to the driver's side fuze panel. Once there, I narrowed it to the relay for the BCM. If I pull that relay, the draw drops to the typical 12-15 mA. I googled it and found others having similar issues with the BCM staying on, radio's locking up and staying on with the key in the off position, etc.
I waited 10 minutes, 30 minutes, and well after 30 minutes to test, and it always shows between 400-500 mA draw.
Have any of you came across this issue, or something similar? It's got me stumped. ~Luke Facebook 1969 Cougar - 11.91 - 380HP 2007 GSXR 750 1999 OZ - SOLD - 15.26 NA - 14.71 on 75 shot
