Man that sucks.. Do Air Force guys get evals? I know in the Navy we get evals that can help bridge that gap. My rate has a very high advancement rate also because the opertunities are endless to make close to 6 figures in the civilian field so not many people stay in the Navy with the knowledge we aquire and the money that can be made. How many years you been in? I am assuming quite awhile to almost hit e6

I've been in for 7 years. What's worst was I missed it by 2 points last promotion cycle in 2005. We get performance reports and affects your promotion cutoff score. Not having enough time in service and grade is what makes it hard for me to get promoted unless you score 85% or higher on the promotion test. Average for E6 in the AF right now is 9.5 years time-in-service. Also, E6 is the hardest stripe to make in the AF. But I believe there is a reason for that, I'm probably not ready for that level of responsibility yet but the pay raise looks good. Hehe

OohRah! Lance Corporal and Corporal. You guys work with any Navy at your commands? I work with alot of marines who are strait from boot like 8 months ago. Some are cool but some think they are the shit because the boot camp was harder than ours. Yet I don't see them killing anything except for circuits.

on my 8th year. I don't have any high tech jobs however, just high tech equipment. Only thing I do is lead an infantry squad of 10 men towards the enemy. It sucks here in Afghanistan. Taliban and local war lord has a hit on me. 10k for my head and 8k for my men. We kinda pissed off the local war lord a couple of weeks ago when they ambushed us and the result was very gloomy for them. Longest fire fight so far has been just a little over an hour. Pictures and videos will be shown when my deployment is over. Operational security is taken very serious in theater so you'll have to wait.
