just thought i'd introduce myself. im a long time dsm lover, and im hopeing to own one soon. my brother is a member of ChicagoDSM.
i on the other hand own 2 Toyota MR2's. one right now is set up for AutoX and the other is an on going side project. ive owned 4 now.
anyways, im looking to buy my friends 97 GS eclipse 5spd. the only problem is, is that the timing belt went and i don't know if the valves kissed the pistons. so im looking to pick up a drop in motor for hopefully a low price. if you guys could help me out that'd be great!
also, im from Illinois, so maybe i can check a meet or two out.

Welcome!!! Lots of smart people on here willing to help you out. Just make sure you do a lot of searching and you will be fine. BTW, I have always wanted an older MR2 91-95. Even if it's NA they sound good and look like a lot of fun to drive. I have acouple friends w/ HIGHLY modified turbo MR-2's w/ T-66's, volks, tein, etc. I drove one and fell in love, except for the fact that I am 6'1 and don't fit that well in them. What MR2 forum do you recommend? Also, I have always wanted a RWD car to "have fun in".
