To start off, sorry this is long I just gotta vent.

So I go to replace my deltagate today with my brand new pretty Tial, I figure 4 bolts should take 30 minutes tops. Wrong! The one bolt decided to have a rusted partially rounded head that I had to beat a wrench onto, turn 1/4 turn, remove wrench and start again. All the while praying that the bolt didn't snap off in the manifold.

I finally get it out and it's not stripped, but appears to have a bit of a curve in it, joy it needs replacing but I don't have a bolt or the time so I have to put it back in just not so tight so I can get it out easy when I do replace it.

Go to put on the tial and whatta ya know the bolt doesn't go through the hole on the wg b/c it hits the side of it, now I have to file the bolts down a bit, more fun. All in all I think it took almost 2 hours to swap out wastegates.

At least it ended with the Tial being awesome and holding boost steady as a rock, what an improvement.

Am I the only that runs into crap like this?

I spent about 3 hours last night mounting a accel fuel pump and running a new hard return line and got absolutely nothing done, except get four bolts in to hold up my freshly painted oil pan...figure that one out emoji

If things were ever easy, there would be a white Talon sitting in this garage right now. It's since got so bad that the Galant is in the driveway up on stands for week number eight, now, I believe.

Fuck. Is it ever easy? LMFAO.

Mine has been sitting at my dads for about 6-8 weeks now as well on stands. When changing my old clutch it took 2 weekends because we couldnt get one of the axle's out. I dunno how long I spent trying to pop that damn thing out. Then thanks to a forum member selling me a "slightly used clutch with only 200 miles" that shoulda been in perfect shape I had to grind out the rivets on the pressure plate so I could re align the clutch disk as it was offcenter as hell. Then we go to put the tranny back on and sonofabitch if it didnt take but like 20 minutes to get everyting back together. All the bolts went right in without having to move shit around and feel for them. My friend and I were shocked!!
