#10200, "My new bike"

Well, since everyone else was showing off their new bikes I felt as though I had to do the same.

It's a 2006 Fuji Roubaix. Came stock with the CF front fork and seat stay.

My mods thus far include the under the saddle bag, the computer (ODO, Speedo, etc), and the water bottle cages. I recently added the Look pedals when I bought my shoes. I did a little weight reduction right away by removing the relectors from the wheels. Current weight is about 18 lbs. I think the only other thing I want to add is a set of aero bars.

It gets insane gas milage but the top speed thus far has ony been about 34mph.

Haha, alright, enough with the now worn out joke. I got it about a month ago because I am training to do triathlons. Does anyone else ride?

I would love to get into triathalons.. but there is one missing factor. I suck at swimming, so I would rather just do biathalons. emoji Just seems so physically grueling. What kinda miles do the competitors run before they get on the bikes. How far do they usually have to go on a bike?

Sorry, no dyno slips yet. I might get a watt meter down the line, but right now I just want to purchase a decent hear rate monitor.

Distances vary greatly depending on the race. The one I am aiming to do this summer consists of a 750 meter swim, 14 mile bike and a 5K run. That distance is around average for the sprint distances. The IronMan length races are around 2.4 mile swim, 124 mile bike and a 26.2 mile run (those are all estimates but are real close to actual distances). Swimming will be my weakest part as well, and I am slightly concerned about how far behind I will be coming out of the water. You can find local run-bike-run events if you search online.

I also do a little mtb, but that bike is not near as nice. I have a lot more run doing trails, road riding is a constant struggle to see how far, how fast and for how long I can push myself.

Thanks for the support guys.

Don't get run over.

Honestly, I hate seeing a pack of bikes like that on the road. Some of them are cool and know how to get out of the way, but most of them ride in the middle of the lane and cause me to almost have head on collisions.

The bike looks sweet though, I'm always amazed at how fast you can get them moving.

around here we have alot of bike paths... about 5-8 feet wide on the side of the roads, bikes rarely get in the way
