Can you tell me the difference between CV joint and lower ball joint on our cars?

I know we have lower ball joint but rarely read about cv when it comes to eclipses.

Come on guys. I need to know cause I'm taking my car to satan for recall again. The shop I took my car to last weekend said that I have 2 cv axle shafts shaking when accelerating. Will this be covered through lower ball joint recall issue? Before, satan only sealed the ball joints. They didn't replace it.

The CV joints are a aprt of the drivetrain, and are found in the half-shafts (AKA axles). The lower ball joint is a suspension part that holds the lower lateral arm to the chassis of the car. When a CV joint is failing, it will click badly. Once it fails completely, the axle will break and you will be revving as if you were in neutral. When the lower ball joint is failing, it will clunk on suspension travel and gain a lot of play. A way to test this is to jack up that corner of the car, and try to pull the bottom of the wheel towards the outside of the car. If it clunks when you do this, then the ball joint is most likely failing. If this ball joint fails completely, the wheel car will fall onto the frams, as the wheel will have nothing preventing it from going parallel to the ground. This is a very bad thing, and can result in a nasty loss of control.
