I pounded it upward to slide over the strut rod but there is a metal piece blocking me.... Was I supposed to pound down or what should I do? Post of call 701-400-1560

WHat kind of shock is that? With KYB, you pound up. With tokikos, you have to grind it off. That looks like stock to me, so you might have to grind it down so the collar will rest on what remains of the spring perch after you grind it down.

Well I have a bench grinder so Im sanding that piece off :-\
