#8496, "15's or 16's with drag radials"

I have a 96 Eclipse with the HRC stage II kit, soon to be upgraded. I want to get some steel stock rims with drag radials for when I race. I can get either 15's for $30 a rim or 16's for $60 a rim. What do you guys think. I wanted 16's to prevent wheel spin but they are a lot more $. Also can we fit 225's on 16's on our cars. Tell me what you guys run with or what you think I should go with.
Thanks,
Patrick

im interested as well, i need the widest, lightest, cheapest 15s that actually look good. i am putting on a set of nitto drags on the frotn. what im looking for is 15s for sure. second, i would like them to be AT LEAST half their diameter in width. 7.5" or wider. do they make them this wide? of course, they also need to be lightweight (slightly heavier than the 14x5" stock 14s if possible and also i want them to look decent (silver finish, normal spoke layout)
does anyone know of a stock rim with our pattern that meets most of these characteristics?

it would be better to use alloys cause they're lighter. strength isn't much of a question. i stalled some hoosier drag radials on for a neon today. that was interesting.

american racing makes some cheap alloys that would be good for racing. they're not the lightest but they're like 70 a rim

What I really want to know is will I be able to hook up with 15's or will I get to much wheel spin? Also I was looking at the NITTO NT-555R drag radials. Anyone now if they are good or not?
Thanks,
Patrick

You can even hook up with 14's with the right tire. The less rotational weight the better so get some 14's if you can but 15's will be fine.

Thanks man I will go with the 15's. Do you know anything about the NITTO T-555R's? What is another good drag radial?

Hoosier's are good and the BF goodridge tires are supposed to grip very well too.

Just letting you know I bought 15" steel stocks, and ordered some 225/50R15 BFGoodwrich G-Force drag radials. They should get here in about 2 weeks, I'll let you know how they work out. Hopefully it will help out my 60' time(2.4):(

Anyone want some stock 16 inchers, the old 95 blade style? They are faded and chipped but dirt cheap....I will be posting them in the for sale section....
