Im on 18's, and Im lowered 1.7 inches in front - 1.5 inches in back. I dont rub at all and it rides fine. Im on 225/40/18's

Stock height on 18's looks kind of ugly IMO.
Lower for sure, you wont scrape much.

yes

well i want to get low profile tires but not to extreme.

you don't have a choice

also if i get 18 can i get away without lowering my car bc i dont feel like scraping everywhere

no

also how will the 18 effect my speedometer

not with te right tires

and finally what width can i get i dont want anything sticking out the sides

225 40 18 or 215 35 18 the first one will be taller and less "extreme"

if you want less extreme go 17's. plus tires will be hella cheaper

Just check my sig and see how 18's look like when they're not lowered. Really, really noticeable. Finally was able to drop it. Don't have time for pictures though. I got sportlines, so that's around a 2" drop. I'm still getting used to driving around lowered, so I scrape my front a lot. Really sucks. Speedometer won't change, as long as u stick with the right size, ie. plus sizing. Go to www.tires.com. They have a writeup on plus sizing.

But if ur ok driving around on 18's with stock springs, be my guest. Not a lot of people would really notice it anyways. Its mostly tuners or ricers, or worse, popos who would really notice the difference. I think its the first mod that I could get away without my parents noticing. emoji Anyways, here's even a closer pic of my wheel gap. Not forcing u to go lower tho.. emoji:

Haha yeah I lowered my car when my dad really didn't want me doing anything to it. He didn't even notice and I'm on intrax springs which are like 2.25" drop.

If you don't lower your car it will handle like SH*T. Think about it.
