I ran into that problem as well. My solution was to raise the strut mount about 1 3/4 inch it just raises the shock body into the tower and helps to get more travel out of the shock. Its basically like weldind a thick pipe into the strut mount it works great and its kind of an old school trick. late mike

stage BIG custom mj racing turbo set up, built block.worked head, all tial components, hks evcez, spearco 992,oh yeah and a huge bottle in the trunk last run all turbo 13.8@108 no nos dyno'd at AEBS in Cali with 300+ hp to the wheels

wait, are you saying you raised the upper portion mount (the upper mount with the 3 bolts in the engine bay)? i cant believe i didnt think of that, damnit! but is there really enough clearance in the engine bay to raise it almost 2 inches?!?
if this is what youre talking about how did you raise it, add washers between the car and the plate or between the strut piston washer and the plate?

ok i went out and raised the car and looked at all of it and i dont see how thats possible...first of all you cant raise teh black plate that holds the top of the strut in the car...

second, you cant raise teh piston through that plate because of the little ledge on the strut piston that holds the piston below that plate...if you raise the piston above the hole in the plate (so that that ledge is above the plate) there is nothing holding the piston from going all the way up (somone on the board had this problem a while back, when you dont have the washer above that ledge teh piston gose through the hole and all the way up (about a foot above where the hood would be)

please explain...and if you can, good pictures would help alot.

www.ground-control.com

They say it's a $100 upgrade to their coil over kits to increase strut travel for us DSM's.

I need a dig camera the pic is a liitle huge sorry maybe someone will down size it ??? (dino) well if you look closely at the top of the shock you can see it comes a little farther out than yours. I welded a thick tube in there to axtend the shock body up. It was easy for me I ought to make another set and sell them. The main reason i did it is because i'm running agx's and the shock body is longer. And as far as the raised hood in the back? I did that to get some of the heat out and i didnt want it to fuc my hood up. welp hit me up if you need something late mike

ok i think i get it but i wanna make sure...where did you put the tube that you welded in? is it below the plate (like not visible in teh pic) or is it right below the washer and black rubber grommet that you can see in the picture (above the plate in the engine bay)? let me know cause i wanna do it tomorrow or sunday

damn linds, still not low enough? i'm surprised you haven't bagged your shit yet...or at least got air canisters. you can pick those up for $1600 and install them yourself. wicked easy. those things are badass too. not really too good for hopping or anything like that, but they're pretty nice when you're cruisin to occasionally lay frame and throw sparks across the blvd at night. also, imagine going to work, and leaving your car in the parking lot slammed on your frame so your bodykit is only a quarter inch off the ground.

i guess i'm getting myself too wrapped up in the mini truck world, huh? forgive me guys.
