What brake pads do you guys use? I have whatever satan gave me and they suck cause they make so much dust. I asked them if there are alternatives. They said brake pads that doesn't dust much are noisy. Can you guys suggest something I can do when it's time for me to change the pads?

I have used Axxis Metal Master pads (w/powerslot rotors) for two years now. They have alomst no brake dust until they get to the point where they are almost worn down to the wear indicator. I just changed my rotors again (Brembo cross drilled/slotted) two days ago and got the same pads. I got the pads from Road/Race.

The metal masters vary by the batch. Some have a lot of dust, some don't from people I talk to. Mine has a moderate amount of brake dust even from when they were new.

I got a set of the "dust free" EBC Green Stuff pads. Not sure what kind of crack they smoke when they came up with that saying for their pads but mine have had more dust than the factory pads.....GRRRRRR

I have metal masters too, got them from coximport.com and the brake dust has been greatly reduced. When I had stock pads my wheels got nasty after a weeks worth of driving. Now I can go for a month (atleast I have) without washing my car and my rims are still relatively clean

i run on the axxis MM pads, and i get a good amount of dust up front.

i have heard ceramic coated pads produce no dust whatsoever, but are expensive.

Does the factory rotors need to be changed if I use the brake pads mentioned above?

hehe, you are supposed to resurface the rotors at the time of swappin out the brake pads so they work properly. i didnt, and i get a metal scratchin noise at low speed brakin....they still work tho, better than stock.

im about to run the crossdrilled/slotted rotors soon enuff tho

I didnt do anything to my rotors either and I have no strange noises.

I just read about this from www.deadeclipse.com "...the front brake rotors cause the steering wheel pulsation when brake is applied..."

My car does that. I was just wondering what caused that braking hesitation. I guess it's time to replace or resurface the rotors. Would that cause all that brake dust too?

If you are getting pulsations in the steering wheel during braking it is because one or both of your front rotors are slightly warped. While this may seem as just an annoyance this means your braking system is functioning improperly. Brakes are one of the biggest safety features on your car and when mine don't work right I fix them A.S.A.P. Also, if you are just changing pads b/c your wear sensor was squealing it is important to remove the glaze on your rotors this dosn't mean you have to get them turned(this is the remedy for if your rotor was slightly warped) just take some sandpaper or steel wool and swirl it across both sides of the rotor just hard enough for you to see little etch marks.
