Got me I used to have Dunlop W10s that were 205/50/16s and it was fine. It'll give your car a 1 extra finger gap though I notice that my speed is always faster on the speedo than it actually is by like 2-5 MPH. SOmething around there.

Why is 205 the wrong size? I have always used 205/50 R16 and have had no problems what so ever with my tires. My buddy did have some 215/50 R16 and he let me drive his car and it felt the same as mine, I different feel anything different at all.

Stock is 205 55 16s, but I dont think it would matter much if you went to 50s. As a matter of fact i think the 50s are a more common size on passenger cars so they are cheaper. Or vice versa, cant remember its 3 in the morning right now

they call it upsizing. i work for sears so we get yelled at for improper upsizing. 205 50 is a lil wide as your only shortening the sidewalla height. i installed some 215 50's today and they seemed a lil wider than 205 55's. not much to brag about though. if you want wider you need different rims

Actually, I'm not concerned with being wider. I'd rather not go any wider because my tires rub on large bumps with the rear camber kits. I just wanted a slightly lower profile(look), if you know what I mean.....sometimes my tires look tall as hell...hehe (205/55/16)

if that's all you want try the 215 50's. in tire manufacturing they consider 50 series and lower a racing tire. so by going to a 50 series you'll get much stiffer sidewalls and alot of tire options because most cars with 16's take 215 50's. almost all german cars do.
