I don't konw if there's a difference between 95-6 and 97-9 but I have a 97 RS with the stock wheels and tires are 14" x 5.5" and the GS model has 16" x 6". I was wondering, what's the biggest width of the wheel and tire that would fit underneath the car. I want 18" rims but the only place with a price on the rims I want has them advertised as 17 x 7 and 17 x 8. they make 18 and 19 " applications so I know they can make my rims fit, but what I want to know is, how wide shold I get them???

8's will fit. w/ the tire, I have heard someone with 235's, though most people go w/ the 225's.

if your gonna go lower than 2 inches get 225's. for 18's 225 40 18. be prepared to dogde potholes and pay at least 200 bucks for tires that don't last very long
