#7030, "FOR ALL THE NEWBIES COMPARING SPRINGS........."

There is an awesome resource on the road race engineering website under the suspension section that most of the seniors on this board fail to mention. There are profile shots of a 2g sitting on stock, pro kit, and sportline springs. Awesome, and a very useful tool. I hope this reminder slows down the repetitive conversations lookin for pix and is an alternative to searchin' through endless threads..jd

The picture above, IMO, gives a poor rendition of the Pro-kits. Check out my picture below for another example of Pro-kits.

How many inches do the pro kits and sport lines get lowered? Do they vary. How man inches do you think that silver eclipse with the sport lines are dropped. And how many inches are you dropped Jason?

By looks of the pix, I am assuming the prokit pic was taken right after installation. This of course means the picture is PRE-SETTLE!

Anthrax you say...man im on stilts, look at that a whole fist of wheel gap. I want to go ahead a lower it, but Im thinkin should I get springs or coilovers. I want to get springs but if i get a body kit it might be at the wrong height, but I if i had coilovers i could just adjust it. Yea i think i just answered my quesiton, i'll get sum coilovers with sum shocks, now i just need to know what coilovers and what shocks, any ideas for a 3'' drop?

body kit won't have much to do with lowering the car. less you can mad low side skirts. but if you do that than a 3 inch drop would be excessive. i'd go with sportines they are rate for a 2 inch drop they'll go lower after they "settle" so do that. coil overs are gonna ride like butt if you just wanna look good than go for it

wow...i just replied to this exact same post like 2 lines up...but here goes again (with a lil more detail...) i got some used sportlines and tokico blues. i was hesitant to even put them on my car after reading all the pro-prokit opinions on here and looking at the RRE pics. i even put them up for sale but just b4 someone could get them, i stuck em on my ride. now i dont know if its because they were pre-broken-in already or what, but theyre smoothe as hell. i hardly scrape, and the ride is comfy as ever (feels like stock to me.) i have like zero bodyroll and it looks dope! however, i am a bit of a car amateur, so keep that in mind, but have a look at the pics...the car's dirty but this is how they will look on your ride without sideskirts.

Hey JJ can you take a pic of yur wheel gap and yur rims, i like yur rims they look like they curve in. Chrome only looks good on black and red cars imo, so dont worry i wont put em on mah white car. I jus want to see the gap with yur sportlines on em. Oh yea and how much did you pay for yur Tokico blues you got the setup that i want. How much were yur eibach sportlines and tokico blues.

i have a ? for yall. I bought my car, it was lowered a little already. the springs that are on there, they used to be blue, i think they are black now, but if you wipe off the dust you can see they are blue. are these factory or what? i would like to lower my car, but you should see my drive way. its like 10 feet higher that the road i turn off of, and my moms car, a 2000 monte carlo bottoms out, but mine doesnt cause its shorter than hers. and i dont want to start now. and a dip in houston is like 5 inches, a dip in el campo is a foot and a half LOL if you see a sign that says "SLOW DIP" here, you better slow your ass down or you will leave everything under your car in the dip as you try to drive away LOL emoji

I just want to add that I have the sportlines on stock shox/struts and the ride is not much different. Only difference is you're lower to the ground. I will guarantee however that the stock shox/struts won't last long on dropped springs.
