I tried to search for this, but didn't het any hits. I just noticed this today after I drove home from school (about 200 miles 70-80 mph). Starting at around 30 mph + when I turn then wheel left, there is a deep noise coming from the front passenger's side of my car. It almost sounds like a deep intake growl. I can hear it most of the time when I'm going straight also. If I jerk the wheel right, it goes away. I know that it's not P.S. related, because engine rpm's have no effect on the sound, just the speed of the car. Does anyone know what it could be? Do you think that it is safe for me to drive my car back down to school tommorrow? Thanks guys, I really need help on this one.

I also posted this on dsmtalk.com. I got a bunch of replies from a guy who thinks that it might be the wheel bearing going bad. I asked him if it was safe to drive and he said that it probably was right now, but it will slowly get worse and begin to lock up. From how I described the noise, does this sound right? I don't want to drive my car if there is potential for the right front wheel to lock up at 80mph. Then again, I need to get back down to school. I just wanted your opinions and hopefully someone has had this happen to them in the past and can offer me some advise.

I have this problem also. Adel was convinced that my CV joints were going bad. I dunno though. The sound has gone away...which probably isn't a good thing but whatever. CV joints or wheel bearings.

u done the ball joint recall??

if u have, id say cv joints, but at higher speeds?? my cv joints made noises at low speeds while turnin awhile back

Yea the ball joint recall has been done. It's not just at high speeds, but at anything say 30mph+.
