know off the top of your head how many washers you should use for the camber mod?
I would rather do it right the first time than, do it, take wheel back off, add/remove a washer, put it back together ect...
tia.

thanks guys. I guess 4 it is. What does 4 set the camber at after an alignment? I think -2degrees is Mitsu standard.

do a search on 15dolla camber mod. fast420a has a writeup.

the washers go inbetween the frame and the control arm where the bolts attatch. this pushes them out slightly reallinging the camber(i think).

i didnt ask what the camber was wheni got my alignment for the rear wheels. i do know my fronts are -2.3, and thats not good.

i have heard -1 at all corners is best for handling, but when u drop more than 1.5 inches, the cornering ability is kinda messed up cuz the car sits "too" low??

hope that helps

I have about 1.5" front and 1" rear wheel gap from the top of te wheel to the top of the fender opening. And my front end is 4"1/4 inches off the ground.

hehe. I think mine is actually worse than that! Imma gonna take some pics tomorrow in the light.
Hey Mits- did you do this mod? cause I have the same springs as you and want to know if yours is within specs now. My cars' heavier than yours but I'd like to have an idea where I'll stand (or sit) emoji

i didn't do it yet. it's actually worse in real life than what that pic shows. i remember getting my alignment done at goodyear once and they gave me aprintout, i think my rear's were more than 3 degrees off.

You can never be too low for handling/cornering since it lowers your center of gravity. if your center of gravity is at it's lowest point, you achieve maximum handling capabilities out of your car. ie., "like its on rails" When your car is that low, it's now a case of how good/stiff your shocks and springs are to prevent swaying.

well sometimes being lower isn't beter. notice the lower we go the higher the arms go up. They go from this // \\ to this \\ //.
\\ // that is bad. Its called betterflying I think. It makes your your suspension travel weak and you tend to get snap under or snap oversteer. I've seen this on an AE86 and they put roll center blocks (I think thats what they're called) on the arms that push the arms up making them like this again // \\.

Haha dang that's what they call ONI camber in japan. Cuz its like your sacrificing tire life for cornering power. hehe and it eats up your tires like a demon. If anything I need to lower my car more, I'm getting postive camber wear and I'm using like 2.25" of the coilover so far. Oh yeah I used 4 washers also. I plan on lower my car more when I get a shorter oil filter. I just hope the jack will fit under the car still.
