#6128, "Would you spray paint GSX wheels?"

Just bought some gsx wheels offline, and although they are fine on the inside and the spokes, they are bent pretty badly, the guy says the ride is still fine and I was thinking that since it's silver, when the wheels roll, they won't look that good, Maybe if I spray paint them with the wheel paint in white?? What do you guys think? Or can I have one of my friends who can spray cars, spray the wheels?? Can they even spray them with an automotice paint? and If i do, do you think I should paint everything including the polished lip?? argh decisions decisions, I guess it's official that I"m keeping tha BITCH! it's moody as hell....

IMO, your wheels are nicer than GSX wheels, unless your going to use them for racing.... in which case it don't really matter what they look like

I plan on getting my gsx rims powdercoated gunmetal too!! As soon as i find a place in NC that can do it. I think it will look good with the polished lip. I would get yours powdercoated rather than spray painted though man.

Ya, if you know what your doing then go for it. But from what I understand from those that have done it is that it looks clean from a distance but when you get close you can tell its been spray painted. But if are good with the can then go for it. I would suggest getting a fat cap(a spray nozzle with a larger spraying area that applies thin coats at a time, if done corectly) and applying thin coats at a time. Then put a clear coat on it. I don't like the pencil tips that come stock on cans, those suck. Good for an outline when doing a piece.

Fat Cap, a term from my tagging days!

I spray painted my rims gunmetal. I just used a base black engine paint (500 degree) and then put gunmetal duplicolor brand paint over it. Hades told me about it. It's sold as a touchup paint for Ford and other trucks I think, so it's just normal paint. Do very thin coats. I can tell it's painted up close, but others that don't know can't tell at all. I guess you would have to examine it more closely in order to tell it's painted. Some of my friends actually thought I got new rims hehe.

definetely powdercoat. Paint isn't for the main set of rims. If they are, as HadesOmega says, your "battle wheels" then sure, go ahead, spray away.

wahaha battle wheelz rule. I have to say any GSX wheel isn't my favorite looking wheel but you got one inch over what I got hehe.
Heres your GSX wheel bwahahah 92' GSX that is

After the deuglification

Use Duplicolor wheel paint from Kragens. They have actual wheel paint, like a dumbass I went and bought the body trim paint but it still worx. If you want em to last you can put clearcoat on it also I didn't and mine still look nice but it scratches easy hehe. not sure how it turns out with a bright color like white though.
