#6043, "Air Rods"

I have a 99 Gs Eclipse and I am thinking about puting Air Rods on my ride for several reasons. 1st because for some reason my car is having a serious problem with the negative camber in the front end of my car and my tires are being replaced left and right. I have tried putting an adjustable camber kit on there but after installed, my car is undrivable. When the tires are perfectly straight, it raises the rods or something into my Fender and my front end has no give, therefor I cant drive the car.. Has anyone else had this problem? secondly, I was to put the Rods on so that I can drive around down because the roads here really suck and my car is taking a beating. And Third reason is just for show. So when I roll up to a car show I can slam it to the groud. I would like to hear your opinions about Air Rods. Thanks

I think Vector Racing has Air rods on his car he would be the best person to ask. I am kinda lost on what you mean when you said "I have tried putting an adjustable camber kit on there but after installed, my car is undrivable. When the tires are perfectly straight, it raises the rods or something into my Fender and my front end has no give." Are you having problems with the shocks and springs. Also is your car lowered.

Yes my car is lowered. Im not having problems with the shocks. Im not exactly sure what it is but when the tires are fixed so that the wheel is perfectly straight, it lifts the rod that my lowering springs are on into my fender,(forgive me for not knowing the machanical talk). Its like the fender frame is sitting on top of that rod so if I would have kept the camber kit on,everytime I would have driven the car, the rods would hit the frame. I hope that cleared it up for you but probobly not.

I was just wondering if Rods are a good investment. Do they ride good? what is a good yet affordable Rod setup that I can get? are there any problems I should know about before buying them? you know, just the general question

well, i havent installed mine yet, i might sell them, i dont know, check the for sale section tonight, but they ride soft, its an air ride, they can leak, but as long as you have brackets, its 89 a corner now, more than likely it will decrease, but then again, blowing a shock can be just as much if not more. check the for sale section

i was all into them for a hot minute..

but then i got some inside tips on the kit i was going to get..

from chassis tech ,aim or ricki racer..all the same comp..
and they suck.. joe from chassis tech was a dick in email when iasked him Qs anyhow.. and i heard thier kits have no warranty and they blow seals within a week. and theres nothing u can do about it
drop zone makes very good ones but they are like 3grand for a good kit

theres prob good cheap ones out there..

Sounds like you need to roll your fenders. The tires are likly contacting the inside edge of the fender when you bump.. Either that, or the upper suspension knuckle is contacting the inside of the fender.. in which case, beat the heck out of it with a hammer, cut it out, or raise your car. If you don't want to eat through tires and want to stay slammed, you have to have those camber kits. Air ride is a bandaid solution, because even with the air rods, you're still going to have too much negative camber when you lower it down, you're still going to eat tires if you drive it that way.
