#5705, "humming noise when I turn"

I had to get the tie rod ends changed cause the mechanic showed me how loose it was. Now that I got it changed I still get the same humming noise when I turn every so often. Also when I'm parallel parking my car it feel like the car doesn't have power steering. Sometimes when I do a hard left I have to fight the steering wheel. Is there something wrong with my car cause this never happened before the new tie rods, but I've had the humming noize for a little while that's why I took it in.

thanks in advance

Have you checked your power steering fluid level?

It sounds like there might be some air bubbles in your power steering. Was it bled correctly? When I changed my rack, that same thing happened and I didn't have a clue on how to bleed it. It went away after about a week of normal driving though.

As for the humming... I don't know... maybe the pump?

The humming is the power steering pump but you need to find out why it's humming.

Check the fluid level and if it goes back down then you have a leak in the power steering system somewhere and thats why it hums.

I told the mechanic to top off my power steering fluids, I topped it off myself the other day. I think it might be a leak cause the noise seems to be a little quieter and starts to get louder as the days go by. I'll check the fluid level tomorrow morning.

When I turn now I would get this feeling like my steering collum is rattling.

thanks for the tips
