Kind of a stupid question but what does the suspention of a car have to do with the acceleration, I mean in a striaght line at corners that is obvious.

i think suspension helps on launching because it'll keep your front drive tires planted on the ground better... and possibly when shifting since it'll keep the car from jumping.

for a straight line launch, you'd want (for our FWD cars) the rear suspension to be stiff (to reduce weight transfer) and the front suspension soft to help hookng up
