#4323, "Nice wheels.....in the snow?"

Okay, december is coming. Here in Illinois that means snow is coming, most likely within the next month. I have Silver 18" MR7's on my car, and I have no shitty wheels to put on for the winter. I will have to drive every day this winter, only about 5-10 miles per day. Would this ruin my wheels?, is there any precautionary measures I can take?

One thing that I would be careful about would be that you will get shitty traction and that could cause you to slide into a curb. Happened to me a few times in my grand prix. Its blizzarding in nd/mn right now pretty damn bad. Im not sure about the salt/sand though.

I'm in Springfield, Illinois. Yeah, I'm really worried about the salt... but I dont have any shitty tires! Where can I get some, that would fit for a good deal. Camber doesnt matter, just need a set of crappy wheels. Hell, for all I care they could be hub caps shitters. Someone help!! Anyone got very crappy wheels around they'll sell for cheap?

Um my lawyer and i were talking prices and its gonna be like 2.7mil plus shipping, its not the value that is driving the price up, its the personal value emoji j/k bro, maybe like 150 for all four or something, we can talk prices later, but hit me up on AIM some time

alright dood i work at national tire and battery also known as sears auto center i hear this every day. first you wanna put on stock rims if you can't do that you can buy american racing 14's for like 70-80 a peice. then get a good winter tire. i suggest anything from michelin they make the best tires of anyone by far. stiff as hell side walls and great tread designs. the sidewall of the tire is what pushes the tire through the snow so you want a tall stiff sidewall. if you go 14's look for a narrow tire like 65-75 series combine that with a good weather tire and you should be good.

I dont want good traction or looks. I will drive hella slow. I just want some cheap used wheels and tires. Tread doesnt matter, wheels dont matter....just has to fit.

tread does matter in the snow tread is all you got. i didn't mean get new winter rims cause they're pretty just meant they'd be easier than lookin for stock ones. no matter what 18's will suck in snow on our cars. if you can't get bigger narrower tires at least put blizzaks on

Yeah be afraid of the snow, if you can get a cheap set of wheels and tires for the snow. Or be prepaired to go out with a warm bucket of water to wash the salt off... don't you love IL weather? and next time Jason takes a run up come visit.

actually salt isn't that big of a deal on painted rims unlike chrome. yeah you won't want those wide tires on cause they will act like ice skates. get something narrow with a deep tread. lucky for me i'll be sporting the AWD this winter. can't wait for some cute looking chick to get stuck in the snow and need a drive in my AWD. emoji

It's not that cheap but, you can get a set of 15" steel wheels and snow tires for $317 shipped from www.tirerack.com. I think the tire size was like 195/65 or something close.

yep, soon as snow hits, no more super20g for the winter.. actually I still drive it when the roads are good, just not when they are salting the roads and shit, salts bad on finish... but not that bad.. I drove on some cheap ass 17's I had on my 240sx, like 1000 bucks shipped to me with toyo proxy's, nothing special, and they held up through 2 winters, they looked brand new when I sold the rims so I dont think salts that big of a deal, just keep em as clean as you can,,, rinse off the salt every chance you get...

i have huge stillen brakes, so i cant get a cheap winter tire... but then again i'd never drive my clipse in snow anyhow... unless i was doing mad powerslides and reverse doughnuts and shit

just go to the junkyard and get some rims with the same bolt pattern, i bet you can get a set for 50 bucks or dirt cheap..

Most people in Rochester just buy some 6" wide steel rims from a junkyard and throw them on with snow tires. Its like 100 dollars for all 4 wheels brand new. Cheaper if they are used.
