i have maxspeed coilovers/koni yellows that i put in around march 2001, i had it droped to about 1 finger tire gap and no problems, now i raised it for the winter (stock height almost)and the left front side bottoms out, all i did was raised car and moved perches up on the maxspeeds, could Koni shock be bad already?? What else could be wrong, the sleeve is not collapsing on the perch, the tires are worn bad, could it just be a bad sidewall on the tire?? i really need alignment too could it be that?? could my spring have collasped?? it looks fine, its not like the height on one side is different than the other. NEED HELP. this is even on small to medium bumps. I have the konis set on the stiffest setting too, i dont want to but any less and i really bottom out

sounds to me that the shock has blown or something.. im not sure what to look for but check for any unknown fluid or something on the shock itself... other than a blown shock i dunno.

i dont see fluid at all, anyone got any other ideas, if it is a blown strut they are koni yellows so i should get a free replacement right??

Remove the strut and check it out. Maybe when it was lower, this increased the compression(just guessing) charge and you did not notice it. Now that it is extended, the compression is less and this allows it to extend/retract like a pogo stick. Try weighting the right front side of the car with the swaybar endlink disconnected and see if you can bottom out the strut easily. Also check out the rebound compared to the other side. I am not an expert, but sounds like you have a blown strut. I think I already said that.

thanks ill check it out, these are koni yellows though, got a lifetime warranty, they claim the shock will outlast your car. well, i guess anything is possible
