I have noticed from pictures that many people have their front upper strutbar going directly over their oilcap and are having problems removing their caps to add oil. I just found out recently that this is wrong, I too had mine mounted this way.
The strutbar is actually supposed to go directly over your throttle body and intake manifold.
I swapped my strut bar around and laughed at myself. Doh.

it really depends on the design of the strut bar itslef... some go over the engine and some go over the throttle body... There is only one way the pieces will fit on the strut tower themselves..

mine goes above the intake mani. i know its on right cuz its got a part shaved off the cirlcle thing for the batt tie down. its like 3 or 4 inches closer to the firewall than the oil cap (for reference).

yours is on wrong because if you look on the left side of your bar twards the firewall there is the shaved off piece that is for the batt tie down bolt. it's on the wrong side of the engine. i'm pretty sure that they would all have the attachment bolt on the back side of the tower mabye for better bracing capability. but also think about this any r&d guy that brought a stb in that blocked the oil cap would probally be fired by the company. but all bars made for our cars have a half moon on one side for the batt tie down bolt.

Most of them have a notch on both sides. Mine does, and so does Jason's. How it sits in the engine bay is strictly a matter of personal preference, it will make no difference either way. I've never had a problem taking off my oil cap, either - there's plenty of clearance.

no doubt darkone, i've never seen them with the moons on both sides. in that case it's gotta be personal preference, but you know what i'm saying though "if" you can't take off your oil cap then something is wrong

believe me i tried everyway possible to put those brackets on and that was the only way they would fit.. i bet that other notch is for something on a turbo model, because i think they both use the same design of bar.. ill need more pics of others to really make ends meet on this i guess.
