Bought these two suspension tools today from HFT.

and
http://www.harborfreight.com/3-4-quarter-inch-forged-ball-point-joint-separator-99849.html
Would these be okay removing tie rods and ball joints.

If I recall the ball joint separator works for the tie rods as well. it has been a while since I busted out the tool though.
