My driver side strut tower is rusted pretty bad. Its a 95 and you can even see the spring and strut thru a hole. even down low by the ecu, theres a rust buildup. Ive stumbled across an eclipse locally from fl that is rust free. my question is, am i better off just cutting out what i need and repairing with other material? or to have these strut towers cut out from the firewall or near there and replace completely? and what should i watch and worry about if so? ive heard people before talk about messing up my alignment. any info is appreciated. thanks.

I've seen it kind of done both ways, the way i did mine was i followed the rust to good metal and patched it. That was on my rs which had minimal rust. On my gs if i were to repair that i probally would have to go with replacing the whole inner fender well etc. because the rust has virtually destroyed the whole fender well. i guess what im saying is the option is yours. hopefully some others can give you some better info than i can.

Search. This has been discussed before. But I did have a 95 ESI that had bad strut tower rust (Pics in a thread somewhere) I was going to have the entire tower replaced so that it would still align properly. But I found a GS and stripped and junked the ESI.
