#32168, "not very happy with moog outer tie rods"

i was replacing my inner and outer tie rods today and ran into some problems just as i was about to get done. more or less, neither of them would seat worth shit onto the knuckle, and once i did get one side to seat, the threads got tore up and now the nut just spins (wont come loose, wont get tighter). this was partially my fault, i should have used an air ratched instead of the impact, but im still a little pissed because i wouldnt think they would have stripped easily. and here i was thinking that moog was "the problem solver" (as it says all over their boxes). has anyone else had this problem with moog outter tie rods, or just putting in tie rods at all?

For anyone who was wondering, yes my user name is a joke.

Sounds like your to blame. Impact wrench, pfft.

I had no problems at all when installing my Moog inners & outers.

I use impact wrenches all the time on tons of stuff, tie rod ends as well.

You may have been hitting too long though possibly, I dont know.

Get it off and take it back.
