So my dad is telling me I need new brakes for my whip.( I do but i would much rather save a little more and lower it but diffret story) so im looking at 400 dollars maybe a littler more. I think my rotors are worped and the pads are bad. so any idea for the money what would be a decent brake set up? thanks for the help.

RS or GS? I bought a pair of Powerslot's with whatever semi-metallic pad they offered. Squeaks a little when cold, but cut down on fade a bit and inspired a little more confidence. Do you plan on making this a show car or race car, or are you just wanting something nice for the street? If no particular goals than why not just stock replacement?

Well i figure with the way i drive i need something better then stock. So somethuing nice for the street how much did you pay for your setup. like i said before i olny have a little more then 4 total and if i can get them cheaper but drilled and slotted ill take them i dont want anymore warped rotors. thanks

I would just recommend stock replacement. I had very bad brakes a while back and just threw some new stock stuff on and it was completely different and stopped awesome. My brake pads have lifetime warranty on them from Autozone so I can trade them in whenever I want for brand new ones and rotors were like 100 for both.

Perhaps the best brake upgrade you can do for the average daily driver who hates constantly having warped rotors, imo.

1. If rear drums, leave them alone. Else, fresh, stock pads and call it a day.

2. GSX front brake upgrade. Autozone carries the calipers for about $150/ea with core and the stock rotors run about $40/ea.

I kept the 2GNT, base model, front brake lines and the GSX calipers are a direct bolt on affair. Had I not done the install in the dark and got the calipers mounted on the wrong sides of the car and spent three hours trying to figure out why I could not bleed them, this would have been a one hour install - max.

Where hard stops used to be a struggle for my little beater, I have to watch myself these days, as I've been locking them up more than I would like. GSX front calipers with stock rotors and pads will do you right.

PS - You can save a couple bones by searching the BST forum for someone selling a kit. Won't save much, but you never know.

Do not use stock rotors...You have been warned, they warp.

get the dimple drilled/slotted rotors and whatever pads you want.
