#31197, "Quick Question on axles"
Mar-18-08 11:08 AM by TheRedBarren

How do the 2GNT axles pull out of the transmission? I have all the suspension pulled out (Wheel bearing, knukle) and the axle is just dangling there, should it just pull out, or is there a c-clip or something?

THANKS

Edit sorry if this is in the wrong section.. should go in engine section I think??

yes there is a c-clip on the transmission side
now you cant just yank on the axle and try and get it out, you will fuck up the joints in the axle and possiblytear your boots.

the best way is to use a crowbar on the transmission side, there is a lip on the GREEN part and you should lever on that. just go slow and steady and it will compress the clip and then slide out.

ill try and find a pic, but someone else may have one around here.

Thank you for the pic, I'm doing a wheel bearing slash axle rebuild job and all is going decently smooth! emoji
