#30851, "Eclipse Tein springs on an Avenger?? oh no?"

I'm lowering my avenger, and would like to put the Tein H-tech coil springs (which are not made for avengers) for a nice mild drop, without sacrificing ride quality. Is it true that the Avenger front springs are longer than the Eclipse? If so what will my car sit like with Tein H-tech springs? P.S. I'd rather not have to buy a front camber kit. Thanks for your help guys.

Also, my avenger is a 5 speed, and weighs 2780 lbs. So its not heavier than a nt eclipse. Also I my tires are 235/45/17's. Hope this helps. So all I really want to know is how will my car sit with a eclipse suspension kit? Say the Tokico HP kit? Will it sit like a drag car? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

not sure about the length of springs but chances are if you lower the car you are going to need a camber kit. its that or keep replacing tires. I have lowered 4 different eclipses and each and every one required a camber kit. Your car is no different.

A bunch of people have used the eclipse springs on the avenger sebring platform. Cause you have a I4 your drop will not be as bad as the heaver v6 guys.

But you should still expect to be 1-2 inches lower then what an eclipse would be with the same springs. So i would consider that a 3-4inch drop, that is not what i call a mild drop

yes you need camber kits front and rear to do it right...
and you will need aftermarket shocks or you will blow your stockers out very quickly..

IMO your drop should be almost identical to what the same springs on an eclipse will do. There is very little weight difference in your 4cyl. I would not agree with the 1-2" lower than if the same springs were put on an eclipse..

But If I were you I would look into either the Ksport coilovers or tein basic damper setup..Why ? because the price is vey similar to having to buy springs and shocks plus the shocks and spring rates (for the tein and ksport) are matched to work together and you can always adjust the ride height if you want... Just my $0.02

Drop will very aboviously. All one has to do is look at the curb weight and vehical size. This is not rocket science.

IIRC the springs for the avenger are just stiffer not longer. Doesn't Dino run avenger springs in the rear of big evil?

Yes he does. That is a trick Hahn did to make the RS sit a tad higher and stiffer in the rear. If you look closely at an old picture of the RS, the rear sits higher
