#30783, "help with ball joints"

i've been trying to replace my control arms w/ ball joints and i can't seem to get the nut off on th top of the ball joint stud. i've tried pb blaster and jacking up on the knuckle but the nut won't seem to move. it's moving the entire stud rather than removing just the nut. any suggestions?

1) Make sure that you remove the bolt at the bottom of the shock assembly.

2) Step down on the wheel studs. This will put some weird tension on the ball joint on the control arm.

3) Go at it with a ratchet and it should break free.

4) Replace ball joint with new ball joint.

5)

btw when you talk about the bolt on the bottom of the shock assembly, are you talking about the bolt that goes through the fork and through the control arm?
