Hey Guyz,

Well I bought ebay "coil-overs" and ruined my suspension. Yea but I did the right thing and bought a tokico suspension kit. I put the rears on fine but the front struts just look like the rear with no bottom mounting hardware. Normally on the Strut there is some mount hardware attached to the strut to mount it to the steering knuckle. Now I just want to know what I need to do to get my car back in good condition and how to install these sweet struts. Hope to hear from anyone soon ... Oh and yes bring on the the Flaming.

Oh yeah, and be SURE to follow all the proper torque specs, suspension is not something to be taken lightly.

go to a GOOD shop and get the alignment checked as well, I've seen control arms, tie rods, etc. get damaged by running with other bad suspension components

Sure thing but I got huge problem ... My drivers side front strut mount has a crack, the acutal part of the unibody, how do I fix it it is about 1 inch long. I how I can just weld it and that be that what is the general consensus with you guys

First is to determine what caused the crack, a picture would help this one out a lot. If it was caused by a sudden strike, it could have easily moved the mount in relation to the rest of the body. If that's the case then you would want to make sure that you return the mount to it's proper position before doing anytype of welding to the car. This may require a bunch of measure and compare between the two sides or even another car. Good luck

Real Small but good idea to measure I will and see if anything changed but anyone else have anyideas thanks

Buy a new strut, do not weld on a strut.

Strut not cracked its the strut mount area, where the bolts tighten around there on the actual body.

Oh Yeah forgot to mention I got a strut bar up front.

take a pic of the area so we can see the crack and you will get some help pronto.

take it to a body shop and have them measure the car for straightness, it'll probably cost around $100 but will be well worth it (gives you an idea if the car's ever been in any major wrecks)

if the car is straight weld that puppy up, if not have a shop get it straight and then repair it.

could also just be an odd paint crack, see if you can sand away some of the paint and look at the metal underneath

I would have the body shop fix the spot too. The proper fix, atleast in my mind, would be to line everything back up to spec, than not just weld it but make a bracket and pull it back together. Weld the bracket onto the body after it is holding the crack together.

I recommend having a reputable auto body/ colision repair shop do the work. Guarantee's work wonders on "fix-it" repairs.
