Im attempting to remove the power steering rack due to leaking. Im have removed the tie rod ends, and I have removed the bolts that hold the rack to the car. I cant seem to get the steering column to break loose from the rack.

might be silly but you loosened the nut that clamps onto the stearing wheel spline right?
lol i didnt on mine because it was turned in such a way that it was in the shadow of my work light and took me a while to figure it out.
after thats loose, i added some PB-buster to the spline and "Gently" used a piece scrap bar steel i had (heavy screwdrive would work) to work the gap in the clamp a bit. it didnt require much effort just a bit to move things a bit. it then slid right off the spline.
before reinstall i cleaned up the bolt, spline, and clamp for all rust.
hopefully it comes off better next time
