#3062, "coil overs ??? opinions"

ok i want to lower my car but if i get a pro kit it is like 225 and if i get ground control coil overs it cost 400. so should i get pro kit or save for 1 or 2 more weeks and get coil overs. also with coil overs do i have to get new shocks right away? also i only want 1-1.5 inch drop

I would get ground controls since they are adjustable and use Eibach springs. I went from H&R Springs to Skunk2 coilovers personally. I can get the GC coilovers for 370 plus shipping, which is not a good price for me, but maybe its good for you?

skunk2's are a racing coilover, and they use pretty stiff springs for the street (about 550 lb/in in front, 450's in the rear). I hear they are really good performance wise for turning etc, just not that comfortable for driving. Your ride will be stiff if you have aftermarket shocks, but I can stand it...I learned that racing suspensions are Not supposed to be comfortable, so if you want a really comfortable ride, the best bet is to get lowering springs, or coilovers with soft (less performance) springs in them...

Haha I'm pretty sure with prokits you'll get a bumpy ass ride too. I got skunk2s and they are pretty stiff. They're great performance coilover though. I watched my autocross video and my car doesn't roll for shit. It's totally flat. It's good to have a stiff spring sometimes too, it'll save you from scratchin your bumper. Try to find some on ebay, that's how I got my KYB AGXs and SKUNK2s for like 400, and the coilovers were already installed.

I heard with ground controls you can choose your spring rate, which is nice. ^_^
