I ordered a stainless brake line kit and was wondering what is a good choice for fluid. I will be racing AutoX on a monthly basis starting this spring. The temps down here in Arkansas will be well over triple digits and the brakes really heat up. My setup will eventually be Powerslot(slotted) or Powerstop(crossdrilled) stock size front rotors, stainless brake lines front and rear, and either Porterfield or Hawk racing pads. I have drums in the rear and just plan on upgrading to Wagner or Bendix rear drum pads instead of stock. If anyone has any comments on the type of rotors I am planning on buying, let me hear that also. I can get Powerstop crossdrilled for less than $100 a set and Powerslot for around $120 a set.
The car probably has DOT3 in it, but you can use DOT 4 as well. The difference is DOT4 performs better (higher boiling point) but doesn't last as long as DOT3 (lower boiling point, but DOT3 doesn't soak up water as quickly as DOT4)
If you don't want to worry about the fluid, use DOT#, if you are going to check it regularly and want better performance (I'm assuming you do, since you are going to autocross) use DOT4

I was thinking of trying Motul 600c. I do not know if it is Dot 5 Synthetic or Dot 4. Dot 5 does not absorb water either. Can our systems handle the Dot 5? DOT 3 DOT 4 DOT 5 ----- ----- ----- Dry Boiling Point 401F 446F 500F Wet Boiling Point 284F 311F 356F

I have read that it is a Dot 4 fluid that is even better. It is not suppose to be a synthetic and it does not absorb water. Any ideas or links to info that I might check out?
