Well today at the world of Wheels event, i chose my new rims for 2007 and ordered them. They offered a little discount so I went ahead and placed the order.

Nice wheels Terry, those are pretty damn light. On another note those tires look like you really mean business

what tires are those Terry? I was going to place an order actually tomorrow a set of 4 of the BFG g force's because those grip like hell, but those just look like a even better tire.

EDIT: I see they are Nitto's. Good find Terry!

Mike, you can take those Nitto's and shave 4/32 off and use then as a slick. Thats why I wanted them.

Very nice Terry. Are those similar to the Motegi Trak-lite rims or whatever? What size and how much about do they cost?

They are pretty in-expensive at 166.00 for 17X7. at 17lbs they appear to be a pretty good deal.

Enkei makes a racing rim that is 15lbs but i didnt like the design. They were 280.00 a rim.

I looked into the 5Zigen FN1-RC or whatever they are called and the spec sheet was that they were 28lbs

They are similer to the Motegi rims your mentioned.

Enkei EVO 5's with Nitto NT01's. Very smart choice. Terry you are the man. What size tire are you going to run?

This is the setup I was going to run (in 17"x7" with 245/40's) til I decided that I need MSnS and a DIS-2 more, since my Motegi MR-4's are serving me quite well and still look great.

Thanks Kevin, i went a bit smaller on the size. I questioned whether or not the 245 would fit. After having 255's and 245's on my z28 for years, trust me i wanted them.

Got the rims in today here is a test fitment and the tire label..lol

The Hyper silver looks like a transparent gunmetal over a metallic silver.

Pffft not for highway use

Sidewall says "For Competition Events only"

Cant wait to lay into them for the first time.

We Ivan I asked people to post the weight if they new it and no one could take the time to do so.

According to 5Zigen's authorized dealer site, they weigh 28lbs. Either way I am happier with these.

I love the "Not intended for highway use" sticker. They look insane terry, congrats. Those are really nice rims for just "track use".

I usually hate the multi-fit look, but those are nice.

Nice site to bookmark. The info they showed me quite different.

Edit: if you look closely there are 4 or 5 different weights for the 5Zigen rims in question. Only one is forged. So now which weight do you have? Do you assume yours only weights 15.4 lbs or over 17 like the heaviest.

Not a very reliable list now that i look at it. Needs to be updated, its missing a great deal of other rims that fit in those catagories.

For all we know, there is a 28lb 5Zigen rim of the same style. Only the one i would have wanted would have been 15.4 lbs.

Terry

Nice choice.
The NTo1's are a kick ass tire for autocross or road rally. I demo'd a set at Mid Ohio in a Rotrex supercharged 330ci in the late fall of 06 as part of a promotion. They grip very well laterally, and felt consistant. At first they had quite a bit of straight line slippage(even with heat), but that is what drag radials are for. right?
And yes, with 3/32" shaved, they operate as a slick.

You should be pretty happy once you get a chance to take it out Terry.
