i have a 1997 eclipse gs,and it has bad ball joints(i think)....it squeaks when i turn the wheel and hit a bump......and sometimes when i stop there is a popping sound in the front end.......could that be a bad balljoint and is my car still inder the recall??? all help appreciated

This has been covered alot homie, but...

Take you car to satan, and see if the recall has been done. They'll run the VIN to make sure. If it has, they might do it again, just depends on the dealer. And if you want to see if a BJ is bad, jack the car up on one side at a time, then see if the wheel has any play vertically in it.

I would guess that the BJ is probably bad. I just had the same experience a few weeks ago.
It sounded like metal-on-metal squeeling when I turned the wheel, horrible noise, really, worse than nails on a chalkboard.
You can also easily check for tears in the ball joint boots, if they are torn and leaking grease then they are either bad or will be in the near future.
